Hi and welcome to 2/3A!
Our teacher is Jane Southern we are Grade 2/3A here at KCPS. In our class, we have lots of fun and laughs while we’re learning and we all get along really well.
This term our learning topic is "I Belong and I Can Make a Difference". We are learning about belonging to different communities, how rules and laws are made in communities and how we can make a difference in the world we live in. We will be working with Grade 2/3B to organise a whole-school Harmony Day on March 21st.
In Grade 2/3A, we have a big focus this year on building our reading and writing stamina and we’re already off to a great start! We love having time to write in our Writer’s Notebooks, write letters for Miss Southern's Postbox and we love independent reading time – we have such a huge variety of interests when we read!
In Numeracy, we like to apply what we’ve learnt by playing games and using our skills in real-life situations. We also use Mathletics each week to consolidate our skills in all areas of maths.
Another thing we focus on in 2/3A is our social awareness and social and emotional learning. We will increase our world knowledge by watching BTN and talking about things that are going on in the world around us. We learn about the importance of getting along and being able to cope with what happens in our lives and in the wider community.
